JC Penney Linden Street

My towels were all wedding gifts.  FOURTEEN years ago.

So I shouldn't have been surprised, a few weeks ago, when I was toweling off my hair after a shower, and I actually snagged my own ear on the gaping hole in the towel's center.

Well THAT was painful.  Not to mention classy.

So when JCPenney offered me the chance to try out their new Linden Street homewares line, I said, "Yes, please, I'll take the towels.  ALL of them."  There are six bodies in this family, and that's a lot of drying off.

My family is thrilled with the new batch of bath linens.  They've already been through the wash several times, and they seem to be getting softer and thicker each time.  And they meet my husband's only towel criteria of being large enough to wrap generously around a full-grown man.  Best of all, they're $11.99 (on sale for even less when I shopped), which is pretty good for a durable towel.

JCPenney generously offered to let me keep shopping, so I was able to outfit my master bedroom with new linens, including some Egyptian cotton sheets that are like sleeping in a tub of butter.

Here's a picture of the new bedding I ordered.  The picture doesn't do it justice--the crewel stitching on the comforter is raised and is of top-notch quality.  The weight is very comfortable, and the stitching is strong.  Many of the items in the Linden Street collection coordinate with other items--it was easy to find drapes that were a perfect match to the bedding.

The prices of the items I ordered were excellent.  Every single thing was on sale, some significantly so, and my shopping went a long way.  The towels were $11.99, on sale for $8.99, and the delicious sheets were about $30--really an amazing price for sheets of that quality.  The bedding is still on sale on the site.

While the value of the linens was impressive, I'm not sure the Linden Street furniture would stand up quite as well to the test.  It's beautiful stuff, for certain, but it seems a little higher than what I think most shoppers might expect to find at JCPenney.  All the furniture seems to be on sale right now, which is helpful, but at full price, it seems a little high.

You can see more of the new Linden Street line here.

That looks fabulous! I'm in the same boat you are. I've been married 11 years and linens, furniture, towels, etc are starting to get worn. I've always been a huge fan of JC Penney's. My Mom still has me make a wish list from them for Christmas!

Love the bedding. JC Penney's has great sales.

I can't believe how affordable this is. I guess I just assumed that a limited budget meant sleeping on cardboard quality bedding. These are gorgeous and thrifty? Who new that existed?

15 years married here, and you are dead on about the fact that so much stuff that we received for our wedding is quickly showing the years ... let's start a new trend of 2nd weddings just to get a replenishment of "stuff" (KIDDING!!)

I am using JCPenney towels that my mom bought in the early 80's - they have no holes, no fraying. I'm sure the color has changed, but the towels are in great shape. I am using these 20-some-year-old towels because I didn't have enough sense to register for JCPenney towels when I married. I registered at a trendier place, and my wedding towels were in shreds after just 3 years.

I love the bedding!

We got our towels from JCP as wedding gifts 6 years ago and they are not showing the slightest signs of wear despite constant washing. My friends who got really fancy towels from an unnamed department store (let's just say it rhymes with Millard's) have already had to throw their towels out. JCP definitely knows about quality!

That's funny about the towels. We recently bought some new ones too (after a massive linen closet overhaul by moi).

I just purchased a bed from JC Penny for my boys room. I love it. The quality is amazing as was the price. Most beds I looked at in the same style and of same quality were $200-500 more then the one I got. I <3 JCP !!!!

We've been marrried twelve years (next week) and I just replaced my linens and bedding. I'm not a fan of JCPenny, I've never had a good experience with their customer service. Maybe I'll give it another try, since next on my list is the master bath! Thanks for the review!

I've always been a fan of JCP towels & I completely agree about the size. I don't care how big or small you are, there is nothing like toweling off with TOO SMALL of a towel.

I am so proud of your bargains Shannon! You did great spending your $500! I bet the bargain shopper in you was thrilled!
