I'm Pregnant! Now What Do I Eat?

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED.

ImpregnantToday DK Publishing is offering another of their new releases to TWO lucky winners.  I'm Pregnant! Now What Do I Eat? was written by a husband-and-wife team--he's a chef and she's a professor at Harvard Medical School.

Can we all pause for just a minute to contemplate how nice it would be to have a chef for a husband?

Moving right along...

From DK's press release:

In their new book, Dr. Ricciotti takes the reader all the way through pregnancy, from the start of the first trimester to the post-natal phase, explaining what to eat to keep both mother and baby healthy.  The 60 flavorful recipes were specifically designed by Connelly for pregnant women to meet their nutritional needs.  I'm Pregnant! Now What Do I Eat? provides scientifically-based advice in an easy-to-read language, with the reassurances that only an obstetrician can give.

While we're thinking of all things pregnancy-and-baby-related, check out DK's new parenting website here.

Here's how you can win a free copy of this book:

--Leave a comment below.  If you're feeling especially generous, tell us all your strangest pregnancy-craving story, if you have one.  (Mine was corn dogs and grape juice.  TOGETHER.  Shhh, y'all don't tell the Harvard doctor.)

--I'll draw TWO random winners on Sunday, August 26th.

--No duplicate comments, please--they'll be deleted.

Here is my entry and my strangest craving during pregnancy was bread drenched with mustard......lol

please put me in the draw
I use to go past KFC and sniff
we couldnt afford takeaways all the time

My craving wasn't crazy. I ate cereal - corn flakes or cheerios constantly.

Yay - I'm pregnant right now, so I'd love this! My strangest craving with DD was Gatorade (I hate the stuff normally). Right now, it's - literally - pickles and ice cream. I'm not joking, and I know it's so cliche. Thankfully, it's not at the same time. But quite a few times I've had a dill pickle, chased by a scoop of ice cream. Yum.

please put me in the draw. My cravings were for spicy Tex-Mex. the hotter, the better. must be why my son can eat jalapenos straight. kills me just to see him do it.

I'm pregnant now and would love this book! Who doesn't need new recipes now and again? Right now I am anti-chicken and pro-fruit. I'm sure this book will tell me I need MORE protein! :)

My favorite craving was going to Outback and getting Cheese fries and wings. Oh I packed on the pounds and would love to not do the same again ... at least not the unnessary pounds :) Thanks for doing all these giveaways!

I loved avacado on everything. My favorite was a toasted bagel with creamcheese and a sprinckling of lemon juice with avocado. Yum!
I want to be pregnant now, but alas, no.

Sign me up! I haven't had cravings this time around yet (only 10 weeks, shh!), but more aversions-can't even look at salsa-how sad!

When I finally stopped throwing up I started eating cracklin Oat bran. I had zip lock baggies of it in my office in my purse and in my car.

Sign me up!! Alas, as of now I have aversions to all food except perhaps toast. And even that isn't looking too good these days.

With my last baby I craved ice. Italian ice, Slurpees, water ice... 'course I was due in August, so that may explain a lot ;-)

Please enter me! ;]
My strangest craving was bananas (I know not very strange), but I had to have them where ever I went. During that pregnancy nary a banana went brown

Two of my three sisters are pregnant! When I was pregnant I craved boxed mashed potatoes and gravy, strawberry shakes and deep fried food (probably dipped in ranch dressing). That could explain why I'm still working on those baby pounds!

I never even liked guacamole until my ssecond pregnancy. Then all of a sudden I had to have it at least once a week.

What a great book! I didn't really have any odd cravings but with my first it was tomato soup and then with my last one it was fresh fruit smoothies.

Other than the day (weekend) that all I wanted was Olive Garden salad, the only real craving I had was for sour cream...on EVERYTHING. Except that I discovered after eating Totino's pizza rolls for breakfast and having some sour cream left over that eating it by itself was _VERY_BAD_.

I'm 8 weeks pregnant now, and so far the only craving I've had is REAL FOOD. mashed potatoes and gravy, to be specific. :)

I'm pregnant right now and my weirdest craving so far is....... BBQ and Icecream, together!

Pregnant right now and craving those little powedered donuts & chili dogs with extra mustard!

I've (unfortunately) never been pregnant so I can't comment on cravings but my (step) daughter in law just told us on Sunday that they are (7 weeks) pregnant and I would love to win this book for her!

I'm 10 weeks pregnant, so I would LOVE this book. So far, I don't have any consistent cravings... just UN-cravings. Unlike pregnancy lore, pickles sound really bad, which is especially funny because I ate tons of pickes pre-pregnancy. I haven't had one since!

My cravings were chili dogs and chocolate covered strawberries with a big sierra mist to wash it all down. Or I would be caught at Quizno's for lunch eating beef dip sandwiches. I talked to alot of girls and they said they couldn't even set foot into Quizno's when they were pregnant.

grapefruit. lots and lots of it. unfortunately, it's not that exciting. i never had any pickles and ice cream moments...

I'm pregnant with number 6, and 41 on top of that! I could use some help in the eating dept as I always seem to gain tooooo much weight.

I crave red. Red koolaid, red popsicles, red italian icees, spaghetti, etc.

I'm pregnant now, and so far I've had more aversions than cravings. :( However, during my last pregnancy, I drove around town for 2 hours late one night in search of a chocolate covered donut. The grocery stores were closed, and Dunkin Donuts wasn't cooperating.
