BusyBodyBook

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED.

There are few things in life that get me in more of a dither than a good calendar.  Some girls browse the shoe department for fun; I browse the organizer department at Office Depot.

It's a sickness.

So you can bet I'm excited to tell you about today's giveaway from BusyBodyBook.  It's a five-column organizer (one slot for each family member!) that also features:

  • A planning calendar to record birthdays and anniversaries.
  • Another calendar for next year's upcoming appointments.
  • Months at a glance for a quick overview.
  • Handy, perforated shopping lists (be still my heart!)
  • Two inside cover pockets.
  • Bookmark.
  • Important contact pages.
  • Plenty of note pages.

DotsAnd you get to look cute while you're organized, too, because their covers come in a variety of chic prints (the one at right is my favorite).

Their organizers come in two varieties:  calendar year (Jan-Dec), or, if your brain operates like mine, academic year (Aug-Sept).

But wait!  There's more!  They also offer a seven-column Fridge Grid Pad for even more schedule juggling.  Here are the details from their press release:

The 7 column BBB Fridge Grid Pad, conveniently posted on the fridge, provides you and everyone in your family with even more space for side by side planning. You'll easily organize, view and coordinate everyone's comings and goings! Create a family chore chart, weekly meal plan or assign columns for personal goal management of your daily diet and fitness routines.

BusyBodyBooks is generously offering to eight (yes, EIGHT) lucky winners any item of their choice from their site:  the Jan-Dec calendar, the academic year calendar, or the the Fridge Grid Pad.  Here's how you can win:

--Head over to BusyBodyBooks and look around their site.

--Come back here and leave a comment, telling me which feature of their calendar features looks most interesting to you.

--I'll close comments on Tuesday, September 4th, and I'll use a random number generator to draw EIGHT winners.

--No duplicate comments please, and note that if you win a giveaway at my site you will not be eligible to win another one here for 30 days.

Have fun!

Though I normally don't hold giveaways on Saturday, I have a really fun one going up tomorrow.  Here's an oh-so-subtle hint:  concert tickets.

Silver Mist Studios

You're going to love this one.

Silver Mist Studios is a family business of three women, and when I tell you that they make their own jewelry, I mean they MAKE their own jewelry.  As in, they actually hand-craft many of their own beads (using melted glass rods) and pendants (by sculpting 99.9% silver).

I didn't even know you could do that.

But the results are gorgeous, producing works of art like this:

Silvermist1

and this:

Silvermist2

One lucky winner will be receiving the gorgeous bracelet "Whimsicle" below.  It has a retail value of $125, and you can read more about it here.  Could you just EAT UP those beads?

Silvermist3

Here's how you can win:

--Head over to Silver Mist Studios and browse through their on-line catalog.

--Come back here and leave a comment telling which piece is your favorite.

--I'll accept comments until Sunday, September 2nd.  I'll draw a random winner, and some lucky girl will be getting quite a prize.

--This contest is open to residents of the U.S. only.

--No duplicate comments, please.  Also, please note that anyone who wins a giveaway here will not be eligible to win another one at my site for 30 days.

Additionally, Silver Mist Studios is offering Bloggy Giveaways readers a 10% discount on ANY piece purchased between now and September 27th.  Just enter the coupon code bloggy just before you checkout. Come back tomorrow for a giveaway that will help even the busiest moms get organized this school year--and girlfriends, there will be EIGHT winners!

VTech Whiz Kid

WhizkidToday the toy maker VTech is offering a look at their new Whiz Kid Learning System.  Their product overview explains it better than I could, so here you go:

Kids choose from 40 activity pages, slide the page into the Whiz Pad and it comes to life with more than 120 activities!  Beginning readers will love its "Story Bytes" activity, which encourages them to read along with the story and sound out words.

To extend the fun, kids can connect the Whiz Pad to their computer to play activities, track their progress or replace lost or damaged activity pages by printing out new ones.

Basically, it's a lap-top-esque learning system that can be portable OR plugged into the computer at home for extra activities and options.  I love seeing the Internet being harnessed for creative and educational purposes!  Head over to their site for more details.  While you're browsing around, don't miss the VTech Class of 2020 contest.  They will award three winning kindergarten classrooms VTech products, brand new computers and printers, and $500 savings bonds for each of the students.

VTech is generously offering up THREE Whiz Kid systems, each a $49.99 value, for giveaway.  Here's how you can win:

--Go browse around the VTech Whiz Kid site.

--Come back and leave a brief comment saying what aspect of this product looks interesting to you (or your child!)

--I'll draw THREE random winners from all commenters this Saturday, September 1

--No duplicate comments, pretty please.

Eliza Grace Designs

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED.

Egdbanner

I just love the little on-line boutique Eliza Grace Design.  Places like that make me want to drop everything and sew and craft and never come up for air.  Here's the story behind this sweet shop, in the owner's own words:

I'm a WAHM of 2 (plus one on the way!) who has been sewing and making baby gifts for friends for years and, after getting lots of inquiries about where people could buy my items, I decided to start my own business, Eliza Grace Design (named after my little girls!) Currently I have a store front on Etsy and my products will be in some online boutiques this fall.

Eliza Grace design was founded on the belief that just because you're a mommy with modern tastes doesn't mean you shouldn't have beautiful, high quality, handmade accessories you love for your baby! Every piece is handmade by me in my home studio and features fun, modern cotton prints - a nice break from the traditional pink and blue baby gifts!

This boutique is filled with so many beautiful things--gorgeous bags, and OH the burp cloths.  It's almost enough to make me long for the days of spit up.  Almost.

Elizagrace_3Eliza Grace Design is giving one lucky winner a Citrus Dots Minky Blanket:

Eliza Grace blankets feature a modern cotton print and are backed with super-soft minky. Measuring approximately 30" x 36", this blanket is small enough to easily tag along in a stroller or car seat, but generous enough to be loved well into toddlerhood.

Here's how you can win:

--Head over to Eliza Grace Design and drool over look through her creations.

--Come back here and leave a comment, telling which item really caught your eye.

--I'll close comments and draw a random winner on Thursday, August 30th.

--This contest is open to residents of the U.S. and Canada.

--NO DUPLICATE COMMENTS, please.  They will be deleted, and I will shoot you grumbly looks.

Have fun, and come back tomorrow for another giveaway that will have you chuckling!

Where the Winners Are

From now on, the winners of the giveaways will be posted on a separate page.  You can get there by clicking on the handy dandy little "winners" link to the left.

I'm Pregnant! Now What Do I Eat?

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED.

ImpregnantToday DK Publishing is offering another of their new releases to TWO lucky winners.  I'm Pregnant! Now What Do I Eat? was written by a husband-and-wife team--he's a chef and she's a professor at Harvard Medical School.

Can we all pause for just a minute to contemplate how nice it would be to have a chef for a husband?

Moving right along...

From DK's press release:

In their new book, Dr. Ricciotti takes the reader all the way through pregnancy, from the start of the first trimester to the post-natal phase, explaining what to eat to keep both mother and baby healthy.  The 60 flavorful recipes were specifically designed by Connelly for pregnant women to meet their nutritional needs.  I'm Pregnant! Now What Do I Eat? provides scientifically-based advice in an easy-to-read language, with the reassurances that only an obstetrician can give.

While we're thinking of all things pregnancy-and-baby-related, check out DK's new parenting website here.

Here's how you can win a free copy of this book:

--Leave a comment below.  If you're feeling especially generous, tell us all your strangest pregnancy-craving story, if you have one.  (Mine was corn dogs and grape juice.  TOGETHER.  Shhh, y'all don't tell the Harvard doctor.)

--I'll draw TWO random winners on Sunday, August 26th.

--No duplicate comments, please--they'll be deleted.

B*Kindwear

Is anyone else tired of seeing kids' attitude shirts that make fun of others?

Me too.

Bindwear That's why I'm so excited to feature a giveaway today from B*Kindwear, a maker of t-shirts promoting (what a radical idea!) KINDNESS.  Each of their shirts (from baby sizes through adults) features some variation on their company motto:  Kindness is Contagious.

The story behind the company is great (you can read it here)--basically, it was born out of one mom's simple and important vision of teaching her children kindness.  Their products have generated a good bit of interest, even being picked up in an article by the Associated Press.

Today, B*Kindwear is offering a very generous prize to a lucky winner: a family four-pack!  The winner will choose any four products from the B*Kindwear clothing line.

Here's how you can win:

--Head over to the B*Kindwear website.

--Come back and leave a comment saying which of their products is your favorite (don't worry, you can change your mind if you actually win).

-- I'll close comments at 9 am this Friday, August 24th, and I'll draw a random winner from all the names.  Duplicate comments will be deleted, so please only enter once.

-- You DO NOT have to have your own blog to enter any of the drawings at my site.

-- And guess what, you international readers?  This contest is open to ANYONE, regardless of where you live.  Kindness, indeed.

Have fun!

Glam Boutique

I love the look of the products being offered in today's giveaway--classy and cute and even personalized.

Glamboutique_2

Glam Boutique is an on-line paper goods boutique run by a work-at-home mom of three.  None of her items are mass-produced; she does them all herself.  And--I love this--her aim in her business is simply "to celebrate life."

She offers invitations, all-occasion notecards, babysitter notepads, teacher stationery (what a good idea!), and many clever more items, including these chocoholic notes that have me feeling very tempted.  And these, which are giving me the baby twitch.  Just a little.

Today Glam Boutique is offering to one lucky reader any one item from the stationery/invitation in the paper goods section, customized to your specifications.  Here's how you can win:

--Head over there and look around at Glam Boutique, then come back and leave a comment telling which product you think you'd pick.

--I'll draw a random winner from all the comments on Thursday morning, August 23rd.

--Please, please, NO DUPLICATE COMMENTS.

--This contest is open to U.S. residents only.

Have fun!

Smockity Frocks

Doing the big corporate giveaways on this site is, of course, fun, and I'll happily keep doing them.  But I have to confess that I have a special place in my bloggy-giveaway heart for fellow moms who are doing business out of their homes, making unbelievably creative products and selling them.  That is inventiveness at its finest.

Like Connie.

She writes at Smockity Frocks, a blog she began as a "home base" for selling the fruits of her crafty labors.  She sells hand-smocked baby bonnets, and then--oh my word--there is The Apron.  It is one of the cutest crafty goodies I've seen out in Bloggityville (and I've seen a lot), and y'all?  SHE'S GIVING ONE AWAY.

I want you to go over to Connie's site and look at it, instead of just leaving your name here.  Here's a little teaser, but you need to go to her site to see the whole thing. Trust me, it's worth the click:

Apron

Here's what Connie has to say about her aprons:

My apron is made from oilcloth, which makes it waterproof.  To clean it, just wipe with a damp cloth.  It is a great apron for working in the kitchen, bath time with baby, painting, or other messy projects.  The design is a vintage look, distinctly feminine and flattering to all figure types.

For your chance to win this adorable-ness, here's what to do:

- Go visit Smockity Frocks!

- Come back and leave a comment here.

- I'll close comments at 2 pm this Sunday, August 19th, and draw a random winner from all the names.  Duplicate comments will be deleted, so please only enter once.

- You DO NOT have to have your own blog to enter any of the drawings at my site.

- This drawing is open only to residents of the continental U.S.

Have fun!
