Coco Myles

The belle of the ball--that's what you'll be this holiday season in a piece from this store!

Coco Myles is a dress company based on the notion that it can be hard to find a cocktail dress that's just exactly flattering to you.  Maybe the neck is right, but the skirt is too short, or the skirt is right but the shoulders are all wrong.

Coco Myles lets you design one yourself!  You'll just have to visit their site to see how it all works, but basically, you choose the bodice style, then the length, then the color, then the accessories (beading, sash, etc.), and your dress is custom-made just for you!

For me, I think I'd do the scoop neck, straight tea-length in black charmeuse, with a long satin turquoise sash.  Yum.

Coco Myles is giving one lucky reader their very own custom formal, just in time for your holiday office party!  Here's how you can win:

::  Head over to Coco Myles and see how it works.  It's really fun!

::  Design your dress and come back here to tell us all about it in the comments section.

::  I'll leave comments open until Tuesday, December 4th.  Then I'll randomly select one winner.

::  This giveaway is open to anyone, regardless of where you live!  No duplicate comments, please.

Have fun!

Star 50 Handbags

I love geography and I adore handbags, so this fun company has me in a dither.

Star 50 Handbags is such a clever idea--I'll let you read their own words for an explanation of what they do:

The Star 50 collection is a limited line of handbag designs, one for each state in the Union. From clutches to totes, glam to casual, we've got you covered.

Each design derives its inspiration from geographic, historical, and "personality" characteristics of a state, often little-known and surprising quirks. But what makes each bag is a creative drive and- we admit - a certain affection for the state represented.

I love this!

It's nearly impossible to pick a favorite, but I'll admit a special fondness for the Maine Companion.  I could get some stuff done with this bag:

Star501

And of course I must pay special homage to the state of my birth, with this sassy number called the Arkansas Diamond Digger:

Star502

The entire collection has not yet been released, but you can get on their mailing list for sneak peeks at which states are coming soon.

Star 50 Handbags is giving away FOUR handbags to Bloggy Giveaways readers:  the New York Hot Pot (retail value $110), the Arkansas Diamond Digger (retail value $64), the New Hampshire Messenger Bag (retail value $66.40) and the Mississippi Brunch Bag (retail value $88).

Here's how you can win:

::  Visit Star 50 Handbags and look around!

::  Come back here and leave a comment saying which bag currently offered is your favorite.

::  I'll leave comments open until Monday, December 3rd.  Then I'll randomly select four winners.

::  This giveaway is open to residents of the U.S. and Canada.  No duplicate comments, please!

Happy Thanksgiving

J0309568_2I'll be stepping away from this site for a few days to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family, but I'll be back Monday, November 26th.  With the holiday shopping season in full swing, many vendors are very eager to get their products in front of you--there are some fabulous giveaways scheduled in the coming weeks!

If you're doing any online shopping this season, the "winners" link (to the left) has a complete listing of every business that has held a giveaway here since the site launched in August.  Remember them as you do your shopping!

My warmest wishes to you and yours for a Happy Thanksgiving.

Loops

I wish I could knit.  I really do.  That's one of those skills that is on my list of Things To Do Before I Turn 40.

Loops1And I especially get eager when I look through this site:  Loops.  It's a knitting boutique based right here in Oklahoma--the real live store offers gorgeous products and classes, but the on-line store is just as interesting.

Their slogan is "Life's Too Short To Knit Ugly Sweaters", and a quick glance through their patterns proves they mean it.  This stuff is beautiful.  I love this one!

Loops has graciously offered to give away their Three-Way Wrap Kit (The kit includes pattern and yarn - winner supplies their own needles. Color is TBD by Loops)., a retail value of $125.  In the words of store owner Shelley,

This is one of the top-selling knitting projects on our site, because it is so easy and stylish. We first saw a wrap with this concept on a customer who purchased it ready-to-wear at Niemann Marcus. We fell in love and came up with our own design. We use a chunky-weight cashmere blend. I had a customer from the U.K. write and tell me she made one for her daughter to keep her shoulders warm while nursing her baby at night and it also makes a great nursing cover-up. Plus, it is super-easy to knit!

Here's how you can win:

::  Visit the Loops site and look around.

::  Come back here and leave comment telling what caught your eye--maybe a particular yarn or pattern?

::  I'll leave the comments open until Monday, 11/26.  Then I'll random select one lucky winner.

::  No duplicate comments, please!

Brilliant Bows *UPDATED*

I wish I'd found this store three years ago.  It's so frustrating to have a sweet new baby girl, and a complete strangers tells you how beautiful your son is.

Bow This will solve the problem!  Brilliant Bows sells bows especially for the youngest little girls.  They create them on a small snap clip and fully line them with ribbon so that they will stay put.  They claim that their bows will work on only one strand of hair--guaranteed or your money back (you can't beat that!)  This would be an especially thoughtful (and affordable) baby gift for a mom of a new girl--trust me, this would be a huge hit at a baby shower.

Brilliant Bows is offering THREE winners a chance to win TWO bows apiece (one classic bow and another of your choice).   Here's how you can win:

::  Visit Brilliant Bows' site and look through their selection.

::  Come back and leave a comment here saying which two bows you'd pick if you won (don't worry, you can change your mind later.)

::  I'll leave the comments open until Monday, November 26th.  Then I'll random select THREE winners.

::  This giveaway is open to anyone, regardless of where you live.  No duplicate comments please!

::  UPDATED TO ADD:  I forgot to mention earlier that Brilliant Bows is offering readers here a special offer.  Enter the code bloggygiveaway at checkout and received 15% off your order!  This offer is good through midnight, 11/25.

Kari and Kijsa

Karikjisa Maybe you're one of those people who can perfectly see a room, and a batch of furniture, and some paint swatches, and some wall-hangings, and you can intuitively turn it into the Perfect Room.

Not me.  I think most of us have a hard time seeing how those things should pull together in the best way.

Not Kari and Kijsa.  They're two sisters with decorating know-how, and they decided to pool their knowledge to start a business.  In a friendly and un-intimidating way, they offer an array of services to help you choose paint colors, window treatments, etc.  It's all done on-line (using photos), and (I love this) they help you incorporate the things you already have for a fabulous new look.

In addition, Kari and Kijsa have a blog where they take questions from readers on decorating quandaries.

They are offering one lucky winner a "Step 1--Color Your Room" package, a $49.95 value.  From their site:

Does it seem like there are endless possibilities for color choices? Are you exhausted after countless hours musing over tiny little squares of colored paper? Is your hair graying overnight waiting for the paint to dry to test the exact shade? Let us help you eliminate your color confusion! We will work with color photographs of your room (e-mail or snail mail is fine) and choose the wall, trim, and accent colors that best suit your decor. We offer each client two color palettes to choose from, as well as helpful suggestions on application and tools.

Here's how you can win:

::  Head over to Kari and Kjisa's site, and look through their list of services.  Don't forget to check out their portfolio, too!

::  Come back over here and leave a comment saying, if you had to pick just one, which one would you choose?

::  I'll leave comments open until Wednesday, November 21st.  Then I'll randomly select one winner.

::  Since there's no shipping involved, this giveaway is open to anyone who is willing/able to send these girls your photos (whether it's via snail mail or e-mail.)
