Product Review: Gaga's

I have been so excited to tell you about this website!

Gaga's is a website that offers rentals of nice, expensive children's clothing (much of it formal) at a fraction of the cost.  It is super-easy--you browse through their collection (for boys and girls both), pick out what you want to rent, they ship it to you (for free!  Yay for free shipping!), and then you have three weeks to use it before sending it back in a postage-paid, return box.  You don't have to clean it; they do that for you.  You can find more specifics of how it all works here.  This service is perfect for special occasions, such as portraits, holiday events, and weddings (if my child was asked to be a flower girl or ring-bearer, I would be ALL OVER THIS SITE).

They offered me a free rental in exchange for a review, and I happily complied, yesireeBob.  I had been planning to have my daughter's portrait taken, and I thought it would be so fun to dress her up in one of their formals.  I had so much fun browsing for the one I wanted--their clothes are gorgeous (and very feminine and modest, I might add).  I ordered this dress for her to wear.  It was precious--perfect condition.  You'd never know it had been worn before, and it arrived in only three business days.  The packaging was perfectly neat; somehow the dress arrived without a wrinkle.  They even sent me a little cookie with the dress! A cookie!  How did they know that if someone feeds me sugar I am a LOYAL CUSTOMER FOR LIFE?

When we finished with the dress, I simply put it right back in the box it came in, slapped on the (already provided! and free!) return postage label, and gave it to my mailman.  It couldn't have been any easier.

In all honesty, this isn't the kind of site I could see myself using often--maybe a couple of times a year at most for a special portrait, wedding or Christmas event.  We live pretty informal lives around the Dryer household, and we rarely need clothing like this (which is why renting is such a nice option over buying!).  Gaga's does offer informal clothes, such as pants outfits, though I can't see myself renting something like that.  Wouldn't you just want to own casual outfits?  Their selection of holiday-type clothing was a little slimmer than I would've liked (though, in fairness, I rented in September; perhaps they add to their holiday collection closer to Christmas).  But when you need a site like this, how GREAT to know it's there.  I'm thilled with it.
