The Best Cure For the Holiday Blahs
Now if only the weight I've gained could be put away that efficiently...
Oh, and just in case you're tempted to leave a comment complimenting me for being so organized, let me reassure you that A)this is the first time my Christmas decorations have made it down this early, B)the only reason they're all in plastic tubs is because last year's cardboard boxes were literally falling apart, C)the only way I could accomplish this was to let my kids watch TV all day, and I mean ALL DAY, and D)the rest of my house still looks like a bomb exploded at Toys R Us.
Feel any better?

Oh, but you are still quite inspiring! A friend and I were just saying how our homes look like Santa threw up at our house. I've been cleaning up that mess for days!

You will be so glad you did. I, personally, am jealous. And, if you figure out how to put weight gain away as easily, call me first!

Wow, I'm impressed. Is that all the boxes you have though? I think I have that many just for the ornaments off the tree. :) I haven't started yet :)

That's what my Christmas stuff looks like when it's all put away, but it'll be at least another week before I get up the motivation to do it.

Connie, yep, that’s all of them (except the tree)—I consolidated this year!

Well you are WAY ahead of me. I'm still trying to get the kids rooms figured out so I can make room for the new stuff. It's 1:30 in the afternoon, I'm still in my PJ's and the kids rooms still look like a tornado blew in...in fact I see no difference than when I started this morning...what's with that??
I think your efforts definitely call for the happy dance! Woohoo!

If you haven't done so already you so need to read Sarah's (In The Midst Of It) entry today and how she managed to get her decorations put away~sorta!
Kudos to you for being organized!!

I have to ask, what kind of labels did you use? I haven't seen any that big before.
I'm unable to deal with my mess until January 2nd because we are away from home and I just hope that my tree didn't dry up and burn down my house. Feeling so positive today, thought I would spread it around.

I would be completely green with envy at the site of all that organization except for the fact that I did the same thing yesterday and have the cuts on my hand from dried up, dead Christmas tree to prove it.
I am glad to know that the rest of your house still looks like Toys R Us exploded. It means I'm in good company.

Terri, they're really fancy labels. ;) I printed out "CHRISTMAS" in a huge font, cut it up and taped it to the box with packing tape. High class around here.

I would have mine down by now but then I would have to put up with someone whining, "But I don't want Christmas to be over!" And it wouldn't be me or my three-year-old.

Mine went down TUESDAY. Feels great, don't it?! :-)

I feel better knowing I am not the only one who just wants her house back, litterally seconds after Christmas. Got the tree down today and am putting away the few decorations I put out this year. Minimalist Christmas was very nice.

I feel refreshed just looking at your tidied decorations. Now, I better get busy and get mine out of here before I just throw them to the curb for trash pick-up.

still i applaud your organization!
mine are staying up because
a. christmas is in the heart and well, we are still enjoying the feeling.
b. we are having a new year's family style open house with friends and family
c. the rest of the house is being cleaned and organized for the planned get together
d. as promised to my kids, everything stays up until after the new year before they head back to school....THAT'S when the blahs set in.

I had to strip the tree and re-decorate it! See my blog....
(can't wait to put the b****y thing back in the attic till next year!)

It all looks SO neat! Great job!
But we always keep ours up purposefully until the day after New Year's...too sad taking them down...and too tired, too! ;)

Yep, that's what my Christmas decorations will look like. Somewhere around VALENTINES DAY. Good for you.

Yes! You did make me feel better. I have been trying to pretend we don't have a fully decorated Christmas tree in our living room that needs to be taken down. I'm soo dreading it. Your plastic bins are inspirational though. Happy New Year!!

PS
I love your blog heading: "...one open backdoor at a time..." that made me laugh out loud.
