Please Don't Let It Be the Flu...
Ugh.
I woke up this morning with a fever that has gotten progressively higher all day, and I feel like I've been hit by a truck. I muddled through my morning responsibilities, but by tonight? Deads-ville. To make matters worse, Hubs has been out of town on business, stuck in Dallas because of the snow (Again! Snow! Trying to think happy thoughts! Not succeeding!) As I write this, he's creeping slowly home, hopefully safely. I've begged him pretty-please to stay home tomorrow so I can stay in bed and beat this pestilence that has me knocked out.
Whenever I feel horrible like this (which is mercifully seldom), I can't help but think of moms managing chronic health problems. How do they do it? Having the energy just to get off the couch is a tremendous blessing I normally take for granted. It's something to think about.
Anyway, while I retreat to my little corner and whimper, I'll be away from the computer for a bit. Hopefully I'll be back and posting normally soon.
See you then.

GET WELL SOON!!

YuckYuckYUCK! I hope that you get some much-needed rest and feel better soon. But not after some good TLC from hubs and the kids :-)I'll pray that he makes it home safely!
(p.s.-- here in Fayetteville we've got a couple inches and it's still snowing. Hoping the U of A is closed tomorrow)

Ick. Yuck. Poo-ey. Sorry to hear you are down. Hope by the time you read this, you are chipper again :)
Kati got it as well, today, out of the blue. But hers involves "the porcelin prince". And they are, ahem, quite happy together today.
Feel better Shannon :)

Oh Shannon, bless your heart, dear one! I know what it feels like to want to direct the show from the sofa. This is a time where unlimited safe videos are a-ok. Plop your kids in front of them and bark orders from the sofa as much as you possibly can.
I'll be praying for Hubs safe return home and for protection for the rest of your family from your germs.
I hope you feel better soon, sweetie!

when my son was 9 months old i got the flu. as it was coming on i kept thinking what am i going to do? what is going to happen to us? my husband stayed home with me one day then went back to work. i laid on the floor while my son crawled around and played and my daughters took care of themselves. my mom was gone on a cruise. it was the worst time i have ever experienced. i was breastfeeding at the time and so sick i couldn't eat so that was the end fo that.
i sure hope it's not the flu. you poor thing.

So sorry you're sick. I prescribe sleep and just like my other patient, Chilihead, I prescribe huge spoonfuls of frosting straight out of the can.

I am so sorry to hear that you are sick. I have fibromyalgia which is a chronic condition and I never know how I am going to feel from day to day which makes taking care of the family difficult some days. You amaze me, how you can think of Moms with chronic conditions while you, yourself, are sick. You have a heart of gold, Shannon!! Feel better soon!!

So sorry to hear that you're down for the count. When Mom gets sick, the whole house really does fall apart, especially if Dad's away.
I'm praying that your kids will co-operate, someone will come and get Corrie and that you'll be able to sleep and watch "The Notebook" til your heart's content.

I had it last week(the fever stuff),actually all of us did except husband...baby boy is still getting over it. I'm still stuffy nosed, but am much bettter! I hope you feel much better soon!!! It is not fun. One daughter was in bed for 7 days. Mine was much shorter. Praying that yours will be on the shorter end of it.

I thought about the same thing this week as I battled an icky cold and cared for my little guy who had it too... how would I handle it if this was ongoing? If I didn't know I'd be better in a few days.
All that still doesn't say that it's not awful to have the flu. Hope you feel better soon!
