I picked up this little meme over at It Coulda' Been Worse, and I had too much fun strolling down memory lane. I'm totally stuck in an 80's flashback today, as a result.
Favorite Song From Childhood: “Sunshine On My Shoulder” by John Denver.
Favorite High School Dance Song: “Dancin' on the Ceiling” by Lionel Richie. And anything by Huey Lewis and the News (incidentally, in junior high, I thought for a while they were "Huey Lewis and the Nudes", and I thought that was terribly scandalous and couldn't figure out why no one else was shocked.) OH, and "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" by Wham. This is fun...
Senior Class Song: Of course it was "I Had the Time of My Life". It was the 80's--wasn't that everyone's class song back then?
Song That Makes You Think of College: "Oh What a Night" (who sang that?); "Summer Lovin'" from the Grease soundtrack; anything by Lenny Kravitz or the Indigo Girls, and the song that every University of Arkansas student was required to memorize and love in the early '90s, "Friends In Low Places" by Garth Brooks. I think they withheld your diploma if you couldn't recite all the words.
Favorite Rock & Roll Song: “Jack and Diane” by J.C. Mellencamp
Favorite Disco Song: Anything by Abba. Still love rockin' to my Abba CD in my kitchen.
Favorite Country Western Song: “Two of a Kind” by Garth Brooks
Favorite Pop Song: It's so hard to pick just one, but I love "Walking On Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves--you cannot listen to the song without smiling. Or dancing in the mini-van at the stoplight.
Favorite All Time Love Song: “I Can't Fight This Feeling” by REO Speedwagon. My heart gets all fluttery just thinking about it.
Favorite Break Up Song: “Hard Habit to Break” by Chicago, and "All Cried Out" by Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam (whom I saw in concert in 1986 thankyouverymuch)
Favorite Slow Dance Song: "Angel Eyes" by the Jeff Healey Band, and "The Lady In Red" by Chris DeBurgh

Songs About Your Kid/s: I actually wrote a little lullaby for Adam. To Stephen, I always sang "To Make You Feel My Love" by Garth Brooks and/or Bob Dylan and/or Billy Joel. To Joseph I sang "His Eye Is On the Sparrow", and to Corrie I sing Barry Manilow's "Once In Love With Amy" (changing the "Amy" to her name, of course!) and "Dancing Queen" by Abba.
