I seem to have at least one child potty training or the oldest getting car sick when we take road trips so I always keep this available in my van.

A large garbage bag filled with a smaller plastic bag, spare clothes and wet wipes.

If someone gets sick or wet, they change clothes, put icky clothes in smaller plastic bag and tie it shut. The larger garbage bag than goes over wet or dirty child carseat to keep child from getting wet once again. You just have to rip holes where the seatbelts need to go through but that's super easy to do.
