That Loud Banging Noise You Hear Is My Head Going Through a Wall

Let's re-cap this afternoon, shall we?

First, Typepad went down this afternoon, so nobody was able to check in the master giveaway list.

Then, Typepad came back up, but comments at my blog (and all the other Typepad blogs) didn't work.

And then...oh, THEN...tonight the little elves that live inside my computer threw a little party and decided that wouldn't it be fun to mess with the housewives of America and EAT THE HTML CODE THAT MAGICALLY HELD ALL THE LINKIES IN PLACE?

The links were gone. Gone.  The tricks that normally work to re-insert the code didn't work.  Nothing.  So I sat at my computer and hyperventilated for a few minutes.

And then came Hubs.

Before tonight, I already adored this man to the very core my being; AFTER tonight, you will never be able to to pry my smooching lips off his face.  He sat patiently, while I moaned and wailed and said not-very-nice things about Typepad, and he turned all the links into an Excel spreadsheet.  I don't know what he did, exactly (Excel makes my head hurt), but I know that he somehow managed to get the links in enough working order to re-post.  It isn't pretty, and they're in reverse order, but at least they're THERE.  If I can get some technical assistance tomorrow, I might be able to get them re-inserted in their original format.

The bad news is, of course, that I can no longer add any links (again, unless tech support swoops in to save the day.)   So if you missed out on this giveaway, I'm really sorry for the inconvenience.  I am planning to host another one this fall, but only after I am well-stocked-up on sedatives first.

Oh boy, I hear ya. I have a Typepad blog too, and I was in the middle of writing a paid opportunity for CreamAid when Typepad went down. Not a big deal to lose out on a buck or two here and there, but the email I got from TP said they had lost power at one of their sites. Hmmmm....

Hope the sedatives work! :)
