Your response to this post was too much fun, and THANK YOU for keeping me from coming up with my own blog fodder during what is sure to be one of the craziest weeks I've ever had. I'll jump right in here with some of the more profound, life-altering questions.
When you have to run out really quickly, even just to the mailbox, what shoes do you throw on and where are those shoes?
None. I'm a barefoot girl whenever possible, even in the dead of winter.
Based on each of your kids' personalities and interests right now, what are they going to grow up to be?
Adam will be something that is both brainy and creative--maybe a software designer?
Stephen will be doing something that requires smooth-talking leadership. Hopefully not a mafia don--there are days we wonder...
Joseph will be a caretaker of some sorts, I predict--maybe a vet or a doctor or a counselor.
And Corrie, if she has her way, will be a pwincess.
What is the ONE ITEM OF CLOTHING you can't wait to wear in the coming fall/winter season and why?
Lightweight cardigans. Because they cover a multitude of waist-line sins.
Why did you start blogging?
I actually wrote out this one a few months ago here.
Why do cats leave gifts of half-eaten frogs on the sidewalk?
Probably for the same reason I feel the need to post pictures of everything I sew.
Do you still love your Dyson vac?
I have told my husband I want to be buried with it someday. Yes, I love it. It was worth every penny.
How did/do you contain all the boy clutter?
I'm sorry, I didn't know containing all the boy clutter was even a physical possibilty. I'm DROWNING in it. I've stepped on so many Legos that the bottoms of my feet are permanently polka-dotted.
How do you come up with the links for Sunday Linkage?
Many of them are e-mailed to me by family and friends, and many of them I stumble on myself during late-night surf fests.
What is your favorite Bible verse and/or story?
Hebrews 12:1-3. My favorite Bible story is this one. I can relate to Thomas more than you could imagine.
If you were stranded on a deserted island with only one piece of luggage, what would be in that luggage?
With my luck? Probably a cell phone with a dead battery.
Have you had to face broken bones or stitches?
Remarkably, through three boys, we've only been to the emergency room twice. Once was for 11 stitches after Stephen took a serious tumble. The other was when Stephen had symptoms of appendicitis that turned out to be a very expensive gas bubble. But that's okay, because he got to be pushed down the hallway on a stretcher while rattling the sides and making tie-fighter noises. I was so proud.
How old are you and how much do you weigh?
I'm 24 and I weigh 110 pounds.
Okay, no, actually I'm 35 and I weigh 110 pounds.
Really.
What do you picture your life to look like 20 years from now?
I hope I'm toodling around the US in a big, honkin' RV with my Hubs, visiting grandchildren and seeing the country.
I also hope that I have finished remodeling my kitchen in 20 years. At the moment, it doesn't feel very promising.
How did you overcome the brick wall when potty training Corrie?
Overcome? Overcome? Oh, sister, we are sitting at the foot of that brick wall, camped out, staring at it, singing songs about it, but not taking one TINY step over it.
Is your life at this age what you thought it would be like (when you dreamt ahead as a child). How is it the same and how is it different?
I wrote about this, kind of, here.
How did you like the South Beach Diet?
I loved doing it. It was easy, and I felt good. Unfortunately, I only lost six pounds and just STUCK there. Couldn't lose anymore. Evidently that diet isn't for me.
And? I missed bread. Really, really missed bread.
What is the one thing that drives you nuts the most?
The way that conservatives are often accused of "hate speech" when they speak out about against things that concern them. Yet when liberals speak out, they're lauded for exercising "free speech".
It's a ridiculous double standard, and I loathe double standards.
What is the update with that stolen purse? I mean, we know that you got a new one, but did people go running around using your credit card? Was Kohl's ever nice? Did they find the people?
It was never found. We jumped through all hoops of new cards, driver's license, checking account, etc.--only in the last few days is it finally all done. Everyone has been very helpful.
EXCEPT KOHL'S. Their "helpline" wasn't, um, helpful. I can't say I'd recommend getting a KOHL'S card.
But my new wallet and purse are very cute, and my new driver's license picture is better than the old one. It's the little things, y'all.
Is your bedroom tidy?
There are days when I think I'm going to have to pole vault over the laundry and Mega Blocks just to get into my bed.
No, it's not tidy.
See? I told you these were profound.
Many of your questions had to do with blogging issues. I'll tackle those tomorrow. Thanks for playing along!
(Update: Um, y'all--I don't really weigh 110 pounds. I'm being sarcastic, though possibly not very effectively...)
