Introducing...

...the Fall, Y'all! Bloggy Giveaway.  It's the cool-weather version of this (remember?)

Do you like the name?  I'm trying to be all seasonal.  And basically, I'm trying to get as many of you yankees as I can to say "y'all".  You have to work it just right.  Done properly, it has as many syllables as possible.  Think "YAWL". 

Anyhoo, this time around I'm hosting the giveaway at my giveaway site, Bloggy Giveaways.  It will be going live on October 29th--head over there to read the details.  I have high hopes you will participate as enthusiastically as you did last time--there was a lot of bloggy love floating around!

YIPPEE!!! I can't wait. I am going to start planning now what my giveaway will be. btw, I grew up in NC and lived in MI for awhile. "Ya'll" and "hey" was two words I could NOT get out of my vocabulary!! I even have a new blog since you did this in the summer.

I think my favorite expression is "all y'all." Apparently "y'all" refers to only one person. This always makes me giggle.

This is kind of sad, but I never received the giveaway I won last time around. I feel kind of cheap e-mailing the lady again to remind her to send me my free item. But I guess it's also possible that it got lost in the mail..in which case I wouldn't want her to feel that she needed to send another one. Bummer. What would you do?

It's not hard at all to get Northerners to adopt "y'all". It fills the gaping hole in the English language for a plural form of "you"!! I went to college in southern VA with many Southerners, and picked it up there. It pops out every once in a while, but people sometimes seem to think that look I'm putting it on consciously to be cute. Nope-- I just meant "y'all"!
It is, by the way, a whole lot better than than the older locals here choose to fill the plural "you" need: in Pittsburgh, it's "y'unz". Yes, really. Sometimes there's "y'unz guys". (And you can even pluralize the plural, apparently: I once heard a waitress address her table as "y'unz guyses"...)
