Yes, it really is true--John Denver was my step-second-cousin-in-law. And I know what you're thinking--that's just so intimate he was practically my brother. If you'd like me to break it down further, he was the nephew of my husband's step-grandmother. (Which has, I'm sure, cleared things up greatly).
Sadly, I never got to meet him. Because I have always loved his music, and it would be a very good blog post right at this moment.
I'm actually quite short on anything resembling a claim to fame. There was the time a three-year-old Chelsea Clinton took a nap in my bed, and my brother-in-law is the personal chef to the governor of A State Which Shall Remain Unnamed. And when Hubs and I lived in Chicago, we once met Michael Jordan in oncoming traffic.
Also, Reese Witherspoon doesn't know it, but if we ever did meet we'd be fast friends. But I don't think that one counts.
