Shannon, silly is o.k. Silly is good. Sometimes we need silly so we don't drown in the sadness. As sad as the Chapmans are today, I bet there will be at least a little "silly" in their household, too.

My car is actually fairly clean at the moment (despite what I said on your original post on the subject), but I'll play when I get home from work. :)

Sometimes in the midst of such heart-breaking tragedy we need to bring some silly in.

I did have a good time with this and of course will keep the Chapmans in my prayers. So, so sad.

Silly is fine and a good bit of levity goes a long way toward healing in the end. My heart's just not in it today. I'll watch from the sidelines this time.

Hmmmm... antifreeze, diapers, kids' jewelry, Diet Dr. Pepper, cotton bolls, a baseball made out of clay from our pond, fingernail clippers, tweezers because the cd player is 'bout busted, lollipops from the bank and like 50 million car seats.

Praying for the precious Chapman family. Thanks for the silliness today:)

Let's see....candy wrappers, loose change, sunglasses, pens, extra ketchup packets and napkins from fast food places, water bottles, crackers, a letter from my younger daughter's penpal, a bazillion bottle caps from the pop (or "soda" depending on where you live) that my older daughter drinks, lip gloss, and a bottle of bubbles from a graduation party in 2007.....So I guess that tells you that some of this stuff has been in the car for a year............

Praying for the Chapmans after hearing the devastating news last night.....

This is such a fun idea. There's nothing like knowing you're not alone in the archeological dig known as the car clean-up!

I was so sorry to hear of this tragedy in the Chapman family. They are in my prayers.

As Truvey says in "Steele Magnolias," "Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion."

Sometimes we need silly - it is either laugh or cry, and while crying cleanses our souls I think God gave us laughter to heal them.

Besides - when we moms laugh it makes out kids laugh too.

Oh, and in my car I found a collection of Thomas Takealongs, 2 matchbox cars, and 2 matchbox airplanes - right beside the little bag they SHOULD be in!

I am definitely doing this...but it will have to wait until tomorrow.

Hubby is away, and cleaning out the van tonight is just not in the cards.

I am glad I am not the only one with a yucky van! I just had to share!

i just couldn't sit back and not participate... even a just a little bit. It actaully makes me feel a little bit better.

Not that the Chapman's don't deserve it, but let's also pray for the other families who lost children in the last few hours...they just aren't as famous so they're not getting the news coverage, the donations, and the prayer support:

Child Killed in Driveway in Brantley County:

This was a good distraction for today and lifted my spirits. The Chapman tragedy is giving me shivers and breaking my heart for them, and for their teenage son. And to ponder how they will accept that God is bigger than this tragedy...painful.

Wow, I didn't realize how much junk was in there. I thought I had been keeping it rather clean.

Awful news for the poor Chapman family. The son must feel beyond horrible. :(

It's hard to laugh when you know someone else is crying.
But I appreciated the chance to laugh, and the chance to clean out the van. Maybe laughter and joy are some things I should be more appreciative of.

My heart and prayers go out to them.

I just finished. It took a while...

Wow...there's a lot of crap in my car.

I can't imagine what the Chapman family is going through. Imagine that poor boy having to live with that for the rest of his life. My car was actually clean this time. Perfect timing.

This was so interesting to read through these posts. I thought my van is bad sometimes but now I'm not so sure... Anyway, I don't feel as overwhelmed as I did five minutes ago cause I see its all normal!

I know I'm late to the party... been busy.
