I'm Shannon, a 30-something mom to four cheeky kids.  I'm married to my college sweetheart. He's a keeper.

Once a week, I write for Parenting magazine's website.

I live in Oklahoma now, but I grew up in rural Arkansas, in a town just like Mayberry. 

In February of 2008, I accompanied a team of U.S. bloggers to Uganda with Compassion International, to live-blog their remarkable child advocacy work.  You can read more about the trip here.

I'm a grammar snob. It's true. Use a semi-colon well, and I will be your friend for life.

I have a degree in English, and all of my professors assured me that companies want to hire people with liberal-arts training.

Companies do not, in fact, want to hire people with liberal-arts training.

But that's okay, because I have used my highly valuable knowledge of 19th-century British poetry to become the best laundress I can be.

I'm a mess and a hot-head...and yet, for some reason, I'm loved and forgiven by a very big God. It boggles the mind.
