Yep, nothing like a little vomiting to spice up a Disney vacation, is there?
Adam awakened in the middle of the night throwing up. My trooper of a husband stayed home with him this morning while I took the younger boys back to Magic Kingdom. We lasted a few hours and saw some wonderful sights. We headed back to the hotel, with word from my husband that Adam was improving when...what to my wondering eyes should appear, but Joseph throwing up on the sidewalk! We dashed back to the room, got Joseph in bed...and then Hubs started with the chufing. Now Stephen and I are the only two who aren't sick....YET.
However...if you can't find a silver lining on your cloud when you're in Disney World, then where can you? Here's what we have to be thankful for tonight:
- Hubs and Adam actually a sweet time together this morning, alone at the hotel--many good talks and TLC.
- The two "healthy" days we had at the park were, on their own, worth the trip down here.
- While all the "patients" slept in the hotel room, Stephen and I had a ball of an afternoon swimming, walking the grounds, and eating dinner, just the two of us.
- Our dear friends here with us, the W family, are offering us all the help they can. To make up for Adam's disappointing day today, they've assured us they'll take him to the park if we're unable to. What good friends we have.
- Stephen, Joseph and I had a ball in AdventureLand this morning, with the Jungle Cruise being a big hit. We had lunch with Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet, and my boys were beside themselves to play with Tigger. Later, we met Captain Hook and Mr. Smee, where Stephen had the gall to whisper to Hook: "tick-tock-tick-tock..." Hook played along by trembling and hiding, and Stephen's chest puffed up with pride.
So please join us in praying that we can all mend enough to enjoy our remaining two days in the park. But I'll say it again....last night made this WHOLE trip worth it. I'm a happy girl tonight.
**UPDATED** We've awakened Thursday morning with every miraculously healed and jumping on hotel beds (as I write this). Thank you, Lord! We're off to Epcot....
I have loved reading your posts from Disney! I'm taking notes, hoping we'll be going in the next couple of years.
I'm so sorry you guys are dealing with a bit of a bug! But what a great attitude you have!!! ("A thankful heart is a happy heart!") I'm not so sure I would be looking for the silver lining!
I'm pretty much a lurker, but I thought I would come out of hiding for a bit! Have a great vacation. :-)

Oh no. That's too bad, but I'm soooo glad you're finding the good (as you always do). And it sounds like everyone still had good one-on-one time with each other.
I hope everyone wakes up healthy and refreshed!

oh goodness, just when everyone was having so much fun!! It happens to my kids everytime we go to grandmas (my mom) Conversations about grandma's house are always, "Remember that time I was throwing up at the mall?" "No, but remember when you all got to go play in the snow, but I couldn't because I had a fever?" "Hey remember when [boy cousin] got poison ivy so bad he had to go to the doctor?" etc, etc,...
Lord, bless Shannon and her family. Give them a speedy recovery from whatever this bug is and help them to have the renewed strength to enjoy the rest of their vacation.

AAAARRRGGGHHH!! I'm so very sorry! I know how that feels! We went to Glacier National Park a few years ago when our son threw up in the middle of the night. Except, we were not in a motel room but in a tent trailer. I prayed the rest of the night that bears were NOT attracted to that smell. And the next day found us at the laundry mat dumping $20 into those machines to wash pillow, sleeping bag, jacket, jammies....
Oh, I hope it was a quick bug and you are all well on your way again tomorrow to enjoy your last couple days!

So sorry to hear about the illness, but glad to hear it was short-lived. Sounds like everyone got some special time with the mama and daddy anyway--and that's always a good thing. Have a great day at Epcot. I am anxious to hear about this one considering the ages of your boys. You are an inspiration to many, Shannon, as you continue to have such a positive attitude regardless of your circumstances! You go, girl!

Oh, NOOOOO!!! Did you get it from me? Because I did come to your blog the other night, and yes, I did breath on the screen.... I used rubber gloves when I typed, thinking that would be enough. I should have thought to use a mask. I'm sooo sorry I ruined the day for y'all!
Tell me I haven't started a pandemic! Please, assure me that everyone is going to be all right...
Praying for your CONTINUED health while you're on vacation!
