Your response to this post was too much fun, and THANK YOU for keeping me from coming up with my own blog fodder during what is sure to be one of the craziest weeks I've ever had. I'll jump right in here with some of the more profound, life-altering questions.
When you have to run out really quickly, even just to the mailbox, what shoes do you throw on and where are those shoes?
None. I'm a barefoot girl whenever possible, even in the dead of winter.
Based on each of your kids' personalities and interests right now, what are they going to grow up to be?
Adam will be something that is both brainy and creative--maybe a software designer?
Stephen will be doing something that requires smooth-talking leadership. Hopefully not a mafia don--there are days we wonder...
Joseph will be a caretaker of some sorts, I predict--maybe a vet or a doctor or a counselor.
And Corrie, if she has her way, will be a pwincess.
What is the ONE ITEM OF CLOTHING you can't wait to wear in the coming fall/winter season and why?
Lightweight cardigans. Because they cover a multitude of waist-line sins.
Why did you start blogging?
I actually wrote out this one a few months ago here.
Why do cats leave gifts of half-eaten frogs on the sidewalk?
Probably for the same reason I feel the need to post pictures of everything I sew.
Do you still love your Dyson vac?
I have told my husband I want to be buried with it someday. Yes, I love it. It was worth every penny.
How did/do you contain all the boy clutter?
I'm sorry, I didn't know containing all the boy clutter was even a physical possibilty. I'm DROWNING in it. I've stepped on so many Legos that the bottoms of my feet are permanently polka-dotted.
How do you come up with the links for Sunday Linkage?
Many of them are e-mailed to me by family and friends, and many of them I stumble on myself during late-night surf fests.
What is your favorite Bible verse and/or story?
Hebrews 12:1-3. My favorite Bible story is this one. I can relate to Thomas more than you could imagine.
If you were stranded on a deserted island with only one piece of luggage, what would be in that luggage?
With my luck? Probably a cell phone with a dead battery.
Have you had to face broken bones or stitches?
Remarkably, through three boys, we've only been to the emergency room twice. Once was for 11 stitches after Stephen took a serious tumble. The other was when Stephen had symptoms of appendicitis that turned out to be a very expensive gas bubble. But that's okay, because he got to be pushed down the hallway on a stretcher while rattling the sides and making tie-fighter noises. I was so proud.
How old are you and how much do you weigh?
I'm 24 and I weigh 110 pounds.
Okay, no, actually I'm 35 and I weigh 110 pounds.
Really.
What do you picture your life to look like 20 years from now?
I hope I'm toodling around the US in a big, honkin' RV with my Hubs, visiting grandchildren and seeing the country.
I also hope that I have finished remodeling my kitchen in 20 years. At the moment, it doesn't feel very promising.
How did you overcome the brick wall when potty training Corrie?
Overcome? Overcome? Oh, sister, we are sitting at the foot of that brick wall, camped out, staring at it, singing songs about it, but not taking one TINY step over it.
Is your life at this age what you thought it would be like (when you dreamt ahead as a child). How is it the same and how is it different?
I wrote about this, kind of, here.
How did you like the South Beach Diet?
I loved doing it. It was easy, and I felt good. Unfortunately, I only lost six pounds and just STUCK there. Couldn't lose anymore. Evidently that diet isn't for me.
And? I missed bread. Really, really missed bread.
What is the one thing that drives you nuts the most?
The way that conservatives are often accused of "hate speech" when they speak out about against things that concern them. Yet when liberals speak out, they're lauded for exercising "free speech".
It's a ridiculous double standard, and I loathe double standards.
What is the update with that stolen purse? I mean, we know that you got a new one, but did people go running around using your credit card? Was Kohl's ever nice? Did they find the people?
It was never found. We jumped through all hoops of new cards, driver's license, checking account, etc.--only in the last few days is it finally all done. Everyone has been very helpful.
EXCEPT KOHL'S. Their "helpline" wasn't, um, helpful. I can't say I'd recommend getting a KOHL'S card.
But my new wallet and purse are very cute, and my new driver's license picture is better than the old one. It's the little things, y'all.
Is your bedroom tidy?
There are days when I think I'm going to have to pole vault over the laundry and Mega Blocks just to get into my bed.
No, it's not tidy.
See? I told you these were profound.
Many of your questions had to do with blogging issues. I'll tackle those tomorrow. Thanks for playing along!
(Update: Um, y'all--I don't really weigh 110 pounds. I'm being sarcastic, though possibly not very effectively...)
Really interesting Shannon! got me thinking about how I would answer some of those questions and I nearly choked on my glass of i-am-doing-something-for-my-health water when I read about the cats and frogs. I had a cat present me with a rats head. On my pillow. I was sure that I could hear the music from the Godfather.......
Oh and I am 24 and 110pounds too ;)

ah I feel so much better to know that your bedroom is also full of toys and laundry! thanks for sharing!

I can sleep well tonight, knowing all of this.
I had a brick wall with my daughter too......so for a bit of encouragement .........it only lasted 2 years, and she was FINALLY potty trained right before her 5th birthday.

What the the heck are you dieting for when you only weigh 110 lbs??? That is my former self, and I could only HOPE to weigh that much again. I'm now 30 lbs. heavier after five kids, and struggling like heck to NOT eat, and haven't even ventured into the area of more exercise. I am owning up to totally struggling with JEALOUSY. I'll get over soon enough, but for now, I'm scowling. (in fun, of course - you're a daily read for me, and get lots of smiles out of me.)

Way fun! I enjoyed the questions and the answers! Have a great week!

Love these! You're so clever.

Oooh I second you on not getting the Kohl's card. I've never had mine stolen, but I have found them to be less than helpful whenever I have had to deal with that card - even to just pay it off. I finally gave it to my husband and told him to cut it up for me so I'd stop using it!! (It wasn't so much that I was spending money I didn't have, but rather paying off the card was so difficult that it was not worth the savings!)

I'm a barefoot gal too! Methinks this will change this winter...we just moved to Michigan!!

LOVE this.
So fun.
I'm glad there's another 110 pound blogger out there. I was starting to feel lonely.
AHEM.

I think my youth was finally lost forever the day I stepped barefooted onto cold concrete, and went back inside for shoes.

Love the polka dots description! I just brought along a chaise lounge and stack of books for the bottom of the brick wall.

Are you just speaking of "political" liberals? Because I don't know any liberals or conservatives like the ones you speak of, except the ones I see on TV and read media spins on. "Hate speech" is "hate speech," however you cut it; it's not tied to any particular agenda.
That's how a liberal views it.

I needed to laugh today and you always find a way to tickle that funny bone! Thanks for keepin' it real skinny girl! Can't wait to hear more of the blog answers....

I just thought of one!
Have you ever made a pillowcase dress for Corrie? If so, what was your experience with it?
Posted by: | Monday, September 17, 2007 at 12:08 PM
Sorry, that is me above.

Glad to read that update, because the 110 lbs thing was just eating me up (pun not intended, of coures) and making me quite, quite jealous. Especially because that would mean that you were all of 116 when you started the South Beach Diet. Which is just shameful.
Kidding, kidding--I'd still visit your blog and love you anyway even if you were 95 lbs. My quite-pregnant self is just a wee bit sensitive about such things these days... ;)

I will happily believe that you weigh 110 pounds, LOL (yes I see the update). You may believe that this is my natural hair color, if you like. :)

This entire post cracked me up, mainly because I've seen your place, hugged your neck and know your 110 lbs. heart. It's gorgeous, utterly gorgeous and lovely in every way. (And I completely relate to your appreciation of Thomas. I definitely have those moments.)

I love reading your blog. I don't always comment, but I've enjoyed getting to "know" you. This was funny.

This was so fun to read. I love the line about your feet being permanently polka dotted. Very funny.

Posted by: Emily | Monday, September 17, 2007 at 03:50 PM
To me, you're only 105.
That's my story; I'm stickin' to it.
Take that use proper use of a semi-colon, you subaru geeks.

I just love getting to know you more!! I'm a barefoot gal, too. Even a real thorough pedicure can't get off the rough hard skin on the bottom of these suckers!!!
Oh to be 110 again. HMPH.
Posted by: Alice | Monday, September 17, 2007 at 06:50 PM
Saying LOL, does not begin to tell you how loud I was getting! My kids are/were "trying" to sleep! You make me laugh everyday! Thanks for keeping it real! I remember when I was 110 lbs, it was a good year, 4th grade I think....huhmmm :o)
Posted by: Kim | Monday, September 17, 2007 at 08:53 PM
I knew you were being sarcastic. :>) You just can't be this creative and weigh 110 pounds. A girl has to have a certain amount of fat cells to keep the creative-ness-y chemicals active. It's all very scientific.
Posted by: Melanie | Monday, September 17, 2007 at 08:59 PM
potty training.
sigh.
i've got almost 4yo twin girls. one is done. one has absolutely no interest. and i do mean NO interest. today we went to value village (in our neck of the woods, on mondays all items with the chosen color tag are only .99 - no matter what the original price on the tag is) so i marched in and scooped up 6 previously 4.99 barbie dolls - she is already a barbie fiend for some reason so hopefully they will motivate this child like ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ELSE has.

"I'm 24 and I weigh 110 pounds.
Okay, no, actually I'm 35 and I weigh 110 pounds. Really."
That's funny. I'm 37 and 112. Watch out for the next 2 years. They were killer on the weight for me. HA!
I have 2 boys of my own and a princess. She's ten now and wants to be a farmer. The princess farmer. Can you see it? A tiara and a tractor. Good post.

Funny answers, especially the lego one LOL. I only have one girl and I'm constantly stepping and falling over toys!
BTW, I don't know if I mentioned this to you, but your Sunday Linkage inspired me to do my own post. I called it Monday Linkage and I post three blogs and one website each monday. I did link to your blog the first time mentioning that I got the idea and name from you. Hope this is okay.

I love you - I am not 110 pounds (even though I am 26), do not have a tidy bedroom, and can not STAND the double standards when it comes to us "conservatives". I told my husband I think I have a girl crush. haha
